As most of you know, I work at a physical therapy office during the week and do brand ambassador work on the weekends, so the last five months have flown by.
I have done quite a variety of events over the last few months. The year started slow, but has really picked up. In February I was a backup person for the Serta Mattress event at Sam's Club. The regular brand ambassador showed up to do the event so my job was easy. All I had to do was just introduce myself, take a photo of the brand ambassador, and leave. Send the photo to the agency. Boom done. In March I had my own Serta Mattress event which was easier than I thought it would be. I also had the Target Easter event which consisted of handing out chocolate bunnies! Yummm... April was the month for the Francis Ford Coppola Wine event during Easter weekend and that was very successful. Target Earth Day event was also in April and required me to have some patience with my helpers. Nestle Dolce Gusto started back up in May at the Sears store using the Circulo machine for demonstration. That was a slow event and I demonstrated the machine more to retail sales personnel than customers. The Circulo is an awesome machine. Last weekend I did my first trade show event and was a team leader for the Albany, NY Tulip Festival for SolarCity. That was an extremely busy event, but SolarCity was thrilled because as a team we generated over 500 leads in two days!
What's next? A three day Serta event and hopefully some R &R in North Carolina with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. For now, peace out...8)

I apologize for not writing in a long time. I have been busy working and check out my new photos! The months have just flown by, but I really enjoyed representing the Soda Stream machine. I had a total of seven events for this product since August. All the events were held at Best Buy in Crossgates Mall, Albany, NY.
Making your own soda at home is easy. This machine really caught on with the Christmas shoppers; I sold out of all the Soda Stream machines that were in stock by November. I have been asked to continue to promote the product again next year. Check out the website posted below to find out more information on this awesome machine.
It has been a busy end of year. In between presenting the Soda Stream machine, I also represented Sokenbicha Tea again. It's always fun to work at Fresh Market in Latham, NY and present the products there.
Merry Christmas to everyone who reads my blog and have a healthy and happy 2012! Enjoy discovering new products...

The last few weeks have been extremely busy. I worked two events this month one was the Sokenbicha Tea event and the other one was a huge event for Kashi, the "Do Right With Every Bite" event.
The Sokenbicha Tea event was held at Fresh Market in Loudonville, NY on July 9 and July 23, 2011.
The tea leaves for Sokenbicha Tea are hand picked in Sri Lanka. This all natural botanical tea is meant to be chilled and comes in five different flavors: Revive, Oolong tea for sweet tea drinkers; Defend, mild Oolong tea for traditional tea drinkers; Fire, perfect for green tea lovers; Shape, a bold barley tea for the adventurous; and Skin, also a barley tea for the adventurous tea lovers. Sokenbicha Tea containes 0 sugar and is the perfect tea on a summer day!
The Kashi event was held on July 16, 2011 at Hannaford in Altamont, NY. This event took approximately one hour to setup. The cardboard displays delivered to my home were large and cumbersome, but in the end recycled.:) We gathered the products from the shelves for displaying. (Thank goodness my husband helped me setup for this event.)
The Kashi event was not only to promote Kashi products, but also Bear Naked products and Terracycle. It was six hours long and during that time we tried to encourage consumers to eat healthy, natural foods and to remember to help save Mother Earth by reducing, reusing and recycling!
Check out my photos!

This event was held yesterday at Fresh Market in Loudonville, NY and unfortunately, the store was not extremely busy.
Wolfgang Puck's iced coffee is pretty tasty and it was discounted yesterday! Suggested retail price is $2.39-$2.49/bottle, but it was on sale for $1.49 with an instant savings coupon for an additional .50 cents off. The coffee has been out on the market for about two years.
Each bottle is only 120 calories. The coffee is sourced from regional organic coffee producers in Ethiopia, Peru, Columbia and Mexico and are blended together. The product is certified organic and kosher. The coffee comes in four flavors, Cafe au Lait, Creme Caramel, Vanilla Fusion and Double Blend Mocha. Fresh Market did not have the Caramel flavor in stock yesterday.
If you have never had the coffee and you like iced coffee, give a try... you won't be disappointed.

Interviewer: To start off, Arlene, could you please describe what you do and how you earn your living?
Arlene: I am a spokesmodel and brand ambassador. I promote a variety of different products in retail settings.
Interviewer: What most influenced you to launch your business?
Arlene: I was an unemployed administrative assistant having difficulty find work. One afternoon my husband and I were shopping in a warehouse club and a lady started talking to us about a product she was representing. We asked her how she found the job to represent the product. She gave us some information on how she started including names of agencies on the web that were looking for brand ambassadors. I went home and started researching the sites and within a couple of weeks I landed my first event. It was very exciting and the event was for Kmart.
Interviewer: Why do you think the female factor is so important in today’s economy and business world?
Arlene: Women are taking more control in the business world. The good thing is it doesn't matter where you are in your life, or where you have been. Neither your education level nor your job experience has anything to do with what drives you or what you can accomplish. Research has shown there is a correlation between corporate performance and gender balanced leadership; the more diverse the leadership team, the more financially successful.
Interviewer: Have you used the marketing concept of tribes in your business? Do you feel this concept can help other female entrepreneurs in their business pursuits?
Arlene: I have definitely used this marketing concept. You meet many female brand ambassadors either on networking on the computer or while you are executing your event.
Interviewer: How do you use social media for your business?
Arlene: I have my website and I belong to Linkedin and Twitter. Facebook is terrific also, because I share information about the events I have done with my Facebook friends and many give me encouragement.
Interviewer: What aspect of social media have you found to be the most help and/or most hindrance to your business?
Arlene: Sometimes the social media can become overwhelming and you have to pick and choose where to promote your business. It can become very time consuming. I have had the most success using my website to the fullest extent and also putting my information on the website “Stuck For Staff”.
Interviewer: Have you had a mentor and if so, how has that helped you?
Arlene: Many times the agencies you work for will have a district manager who will “coach” or “mentor” the brand ambassador.
Interviewer: What would you say is the single biggest reason for your success?
Arlene: Determination is most important!
Interviewer: If you could step back in time to when you were just starting out, what advice would you give yourself knowing what you know now?
Arlene: The more you do presentations for events the better you become. Practice makes perfect and learning to sell is one of the keys to success. Marketing courses certainly help and keeping a positive outlook, even if the product your selling is not always working correctly.
Interviewer: Can you share with us any plans or lifetime goals (personal or business) that we can look forward to from you?
Arlene: I enjoy being a brand ambassador and I would like others to learn about this occupation. It is a great way for stay at home mom’s/ dad’s to make money and also for people who would like additional income.
Interviewer: What is the best way for our readers to learn more about you or contact you for more information?
Arlene: Please contact me at [email protected] Please visit my website at

Fresh Market is such a terrific store to spend time in and the Noosa Yoghurt event made the afternoon even better! Over 100 people sampled the yoghurt and everyone liked it. The containers flew off the shelves. The samples disappeared off the table and the day flew by for me as well.
Noosa Yoghurt is organic and it is made by an Australian team who now live in Colorado. Noosa is a wonderful surf town on the sunshine coast of Australia and they named the yoghurt after this small town where the secret recipe originated. Noosa comes in three delicious flavors: Blueberry, Raspberry and Strawberry Rhubarb, There are no RBGH in this yoghurt. It has not been treated with any artificial hormones whatsoever. They have "happy cows" on their local Colorado dairy. It is a bit more expensive than most yogurts, but only the finest quality ingredients are used and it is made with pure honey from Beyond the Hive.
Give this product a try and I am sure you will agree, that this is the best you have tasted in yoghurts.

Well, I had a total of four wine tastings for Los Vascos Wine. All of them were a terrific success!
Yesterday I was at Exit 9 Wine and Liquor in Clifton Park, NY. What a large, bright store with a friendly staff! Most of the customers were in the store shopping for a very specific wine or liquor. They stopped by my table to try the Los Vascos Wine. Many took the business cards to use as a reminder for their next shopping trip. Many of the customers who have had the wine before, bought it again.
At this tasting we featured three Los Vascos wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and a Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. All the wines were nice dry wines with a "bite". The Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay both fruity and pleasant. The Reserve Cab was seen in Wine Enthusiast Magazine and was rated 89 points. Pretty high for a wine that is only $14.85 per bottle. This wine has a bouquet of cassis, blackberry and controlled oak, while the palate shows a spot piercing acidity with black cherry, cassis and light olive flavors.
Next week will be a new event for me... Noosa Yoghurt at The Fresh Market in Loudonville, NY. Stop by and see me.

Well, another successful event, this time at BJ's in Albany, NY! The Los Vascos Wine tasting event was fun and we featured the Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 and 2009.
This cab is deep and pleasant. You can taste the cherries, blackberries and plums. Notes of raspberry jam, candied fruit and white chocolate. Spices of black pepper, nutmeg, bay leaves and cloves. This wine is a good classic wine.
By 3:00 p.m. every bottle was sold that was on the floor!:DThere was more in the inventory, but a forklift was needed to bring it down which wasn't going to happen until the next day.
Next weekend the tasting will be at Empire Wine in Northway Mall, Albany, NY.
